эк., юр. гарантия выполнения*, поручительская гарантия* (соглашение, по которому одна сторона (поручитель, гарант) принимает на себя обязательство перед другой стороной возместить ему потери или ущерб, нанесенный неспособностью третьего лица выполнить свои обязательства, либо завершить выполнение обязательств третьего лица, напр., завершить строительный проект, который первоначальный подрядчик завершить не в состоянии; термин иногда используется как полный синоним с гарантией исполнения контракта, хотя обычно данный термин распространяют также и на неконтрактные гарантии)
